Eric St.John
Eric St. John has been with WJER since 1989. He is a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and is also a graduate of the Cleveland School of Broadcasting and United Electronics Institute in Akron. Eric served in the United States Navy for 3 years of active duty aboard the USS Claude V. Ricketts (DDG-5) and 3 years in the Akron Unit of the Navy Reserves (1969-1975).
Eric has also been involved with his family’s business, Porter Plumbing. Broadcasting wise, prior to his arrival at WJER, Eric was an 8-year favorite at WNPQ Radio (New Philadelphia, Canton). He is a past president of New Philadelphia Jaycees (1978) and is now a Jaycee International Senator.
Eric is a lifelong resident of New Philadelphia, and he has four children: Jennifer, Tyler, Trevor, and Taylor. Eric wears all the hats of his favorite teams: the Cavs, Browns, Indians, and Ohio State. He is also a fan of longtime broadcast legend Dick Hanchette.
