Couple finds stolen gun in landscaping

DOVER (WJER) (April 28, 2023) – An East 2^nd Street couple working on their landscaping Thursday afternoon made a surprising discovery. They found a gun sitting in some leaves in the bushes.

Dover Police say the nine-millimeter handgun had been reported stolen out of somebody’s vehicle at Limby’s back on Dec. 3.

The police report says the firearm was a little rusty and looked like it had been in the couple’s landscaping for quite some time. It was in a holster and didn’t have a magazine.

Police returned the gun to its owner. He was he was not worried about getting it fingerprinted and was content with just having it back.
