Uhrichsville Dems schedule meeting to pick new council member
UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (Jan. 4, 2024) – The Uhrichsville Democratic Central Committee will be filling a vacancy on city council this weekend.
There’s an at-large seat up to grabs because of Jim Zucal becoming mayor in the new year. Committee member Martha Campbell says they’ll be meeting in the council room at city hall on Saturday at 10 am to hear from potential candidates.
“And anyone who is interested will just be given an opportunity to introduce themselves, tell a little about themselves, and then the Central Committee people there will be able to ask questions if they would like, and then we will cast our ballots and we’ll appoint the person that day.”
Only city residents who registered Democrats will be considered to fill the remainder of Zucal’s term, which runs until the end of next year.
“I think just as always, we’re looking for people who have the best interest of Uhrichville at heart and who are willing to work to make our community better.”
