COLUMBUS (WJER) (Aug. 5, 2024) – Two Tuscarawas County 4-H’ers earned top honors at the 2024 Ohio State Fair.

Anniston Oszust had the Grand Champion Market Beef in Division 3. The cross-bred steer weighing just under 1,400 pounds brought in $40,000, the highest sale price in Sunday’s Champion Livestock Auction. She was emotional when she talked with Ohio Ag Net’s Dale Minyo.

“It feels good because we put in so much work him and I’m just really happy that we won it, and sad to see him go.”

The winning bid came from the Kroger Company, Bob Evans Farms, The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, and the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association. The other local participant in Sunday’s auction was Marshall Miller, whose Reserve Grand Champion market lamb sold for $12,000 to Giant Eagle and Sugardale Foods.
