Motorcycle operator seriously injured in crash near New Philadelphia
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (March 31, 2025) – State troopers have had no updates today on the operator injured in Saturday’s motorcycle crash east of New Philadelphia.
The motorcycle, operated by 66-year-old David Metzger of Louisville, was rounding a curve on Tabor Ridge Road in Fairfield Township and went off the left side of the road around 3:30 p.m. The motorcycle overturned and Metzger was hospitalized in Akron in serious condition.
New Philadelphia Post Sgt. Clinton Armstrong says there’s no indication speed or alcohol were factors.
He says Metzger was not wearing a helmet and there were no witnesses to the crash that’s still under investigation.
