Dover PD back to full force after 3 new hires

| July 30, 2025

DOVER (WJER) (July 30, 2025) – Dover Police are back at full force after the city spent about a year and a half making the department a more desirable place to work.

Mayor Shane Gunnoe says Dover recently hired three new police officers. They are William Steinbach, Nicholas Castricone and David Little.

Gunnoe says it had been difficult to attract applicants, so the city made some changes.

The department loosened restrictions on facial hair, tattoos and residency requirements, increased the age limit from 35 to 50, reimbursed police academy tuition and boosted pay by $2 an hour in 2024.
