Vitalant asks residents to roll up sleeve and give blood

| August 4, 2025

SUGARCREEK (WJER) (Aug. 4, 2025) – There are several opportunities to donate blood in Tuscarawas County this month.

The first drive will be today from 3 to 7 p.m. at D Yoder’s Hardwoods on County Road 70 in Sugarcreek.

Vitalant Communications Manager Maya Santana says the need for blood donations remains high, especially through Labor Day, as individuals are often too busy to donate during the summer months.

She says Every 2 seconds, someone in the US needs a blood transfusion because of a traumatic injury, routine surgeries, chronic illness, or cancer treatment.

Other local blood donation drives will take place on August 11th at Barrs Mills School in Sugarcreek, on the 14th at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital, and on August 15th, at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.

Details are at vitalant.org.
