Driver cited for causing crash into Hog Heaven of Dover

DOVER (WJER) (Sept. 3, 2025) – State troopers say the pickup truck that crashed into the front of the Hog Heaven of Dover restaurant Labor Day afternoon was not the at-fault vehicle.
Trooper Matthew Clapper Says the Ram 3500 pickup truck that hit the restaurant swerved to avoid an oncoming Chevy Silverado pickup truck that turned left in front of the Ram shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday.
The Ram truck ended up striking the building, a sign, and two parked vehicles.
Clapper described the damage to the Ram and one of the parked vehicles as disabling, while damage was minor to the other parked vehicle.
He says the Ram driver also suffered minor injuries and fortunately nobody else was hurt.
The driver of the Silverado was cited for failure to control.
Clapper says there was serious foundation damage to the front porch and side wall of the restaurant, but it has since been able to reopen.
