Strasburg PD taking applications for school resource officer position
STRASBURG (WJER) (Sept. 8, 2025) – The village’s new police chief is actively still trying to bring on one more member to the force with student safety in mind.
Randy Haugh says after recently adding a sergeant, the department is now accepting applications for the position of school resource officer.
Haugh says along with being present in case there’s ever an emergency at school, the resource officer is also responsible for building trust and making connections with students.
The resource officer would also cover football and basketball games and other school events.
Haugh says he’s hoping to have that position filled within the next few weeks.
