Dover church to celebrate 40th anniversary of MLK Day services
DOVER (WJER) (Jan. 19, 2026) – The community is invited to gather tonight for an evening of reflection, inspiration, and remembrance honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Day Celebration committee member and New Philadelphia Law Director Marvin Fete says the annual gathering takes place tonight at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on Regent Street in Dover.
Fete told council last week this is the 40th anniversary for the celebration – which has been happening every year since becoming a federal holiday in 1986.
The featured speaker for tonight’s event is Kent State Tuscarawas Dean Dr. Brad Bielski.
