Dover cop removed from duty, but officials offer few details
DOVER – A city police officer has been removed from duty and placed on leave after an unspecified incident.
Dover Safety Director Robert Everett in a media release said the city learned of the incident on Jan. 21 but did not offer any specifics about what happened or when and where it happened. The release says the city will not be commenting further until an investigation and/or potential disciplinary actions are complete.
The media release says an outside law enforcement agency is conducting an investigation and will forward the results to an outside special prosecutor to decide if any criminal charges are warranted.
