The event

Historic Zoar Village hosts homeschooled students of all ages at its annual Homeschool Day on Friday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During Homeschool Day, students learn how the Zoar Separatists prepared for spring through a variety of activities located throughout the village, including a bread relay, butter churning, planting seeds, tin smithing and German school lessons.

“We’re proud to give students an interactive, hands-on way to explore history and connect with the Zoar Separatists and the history that shaped our community,” said Tammi Shrum, site director of Historic Zoar Village.

Students will also tour many preserved historical buildings, such as the Blacksmith, the Dairy and the Laundry, to learn more about Zoar’s history.

Tickets are $8 per student, $8 per adult and free for children 5 and under. Admission is free for one adult per group. Reservations are requested. Private homeschool tours are available by appointment only.
