Dover hoping for federal grant to extend sewer lines

| April 10, 2026

DOVER – City officials are hoping to get $2 million in federal funding so they can extend sanitary sewer lines to residents north of the city limits who rely on aging septic systems.

Mayor Shane Gunnoe says Congressman Mike Rulli has recommended the grant. Now the city is waiting to see if it will be included as part of Congressional Directed Spending in the 2027 federal budget.

Gunnoe says the project would make public sewer available to approximately 100 homes and 7 businesses in Columbia, an unincorporated community in Franklin township.
