Torch Run Carries “Flame of Hope” Through Tuscarawas County
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (May 29, 2026) – Law enforcement agencies across Tuscarawas County once again teamed up to support local Special Olympics athletes during Thursday’s annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Officers and community partners carried the “Flame of Hope” through Strasburg, Dover, New Philadelphia, and Sugarcreek as part of a statewide relay leading to Columbus.
The torch will help open the Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games at Ohio State University this weekend.
