Dayton man indicted after allegedly running away with 15-year-old
NEW PHILADELPHIA – A Dayton man accused of taking a 15-year-old girl from New Philadelphia to Wisconsin without her parents’ permission has been indicted on a pair of felonies.
Jordan Romine, 24, is charged with interference with custody and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Captain Detective Adam Fisher said it appears Romine lied about his age online to begin a relationship with the teen and left with her in the middle of the night on April 26.
Police used Flock camera license plate readers to track the pair to a rest stop in Walworth County in Wisconsin, 500 miles away.
The girl was reunited with her mother. Romine was taken into custody and extradited to the Tuscarawas County Jail in May. He is expected to be arraigned this week.
