The event
The Friends of Tuscarawas County Public Library’s Main Library invites the community to celebrate Christmas in July when they host a Mystery Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, July 25th at 6:30 PM. The Friends of the Main Library is a 501(c)3 organization that raises funds for special projects at the library.
This mystery, written by Chris Hart, is titled Mayhem at the North Pole. Guests will be asked to solve who tried to disrupt Santa’s preparations for Christmas Eve. Will it be Ralphie’s mom, Cindy Lou Who, Hermie the Elf, Clark Griswold, or Grandma who got run over by a reindeer? Ticketholders are encouraged to dress in their favorite holiday attire to add to the ambiance of the evening.
“We are so grateful to Chris Hart for writing and directing this piece, which is sure to spread Christmas cheer,” remarked Friends Board President Candy Beaber. “With the support of other local actors, we are confident that this will be yet another successful fundraiser for the Friends of the Library.”
The Mystery Dinner is $50 per person and requires tickets to be purchased in advance at the Main Library in New Philadelphia. Tickets can be purchased by cash, check, or card. Tickets purchased with card will have a $3 per ticket transaction fee. Reservations are required by July 17th.
Dinner, which is included with each ticket, will feature a buffet-style meal from Ricardo’s and include roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, rolls, and assorted pies.
After dinner, guests will be able to ask questions to help determine who is the culprit, and those at each table will put forth theories after the interrogations. The table with the best guess will be the winner.
The Main Library is located at 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia. Doors for the event will open 30 minutes before show time. For more information on the show, call 330-364-4474 ext. 221.
