Dress-A-Child Registration Underway, Donations Still Needed
DOVER (WJER) (July 16, 2026) – The Dress-A-Child program is gearing up for another school year, helping children start classes feeling ready and confident with new clothes.
Registration is now underway for families. Applicants should bring a photo ID, proof of household income, and guardianship or custody paperwork if needed. Most families will learn if they qualify before leaving.
Treasurer Becky Mastin says the program provided clothing gift cards to more than 1,050 children from income-qualifying families last year.
Mastin says organizers hope to raise about $100,000 again this year to provide each child with a $100 shopping gift card. She says the program has raised just under $90,000 so far.
Donations are still being accepted through the end of July. Checks payable to Dress-A-Child can be mailed to 1210 Winkler Drive, Dover OH 44622.
The program is also seeking volunteer translators to help Spanish-speaking families during registration.
Registration continues today at Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church and next Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at each location.
