Tuscarawas Central Catholic Breaks Ground on New Fieldhouse and Community Center
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Aug. 14, 2026) – A new chapter is underway at Tuscarawas Central Catholic as school leaders and supporters gathered Thursday for the groundbreaking of a new, multi-million-dollar athletic Fieldhouse and Community Center. Columbus Bishop Earl Fernandes joined members of the Building on Excellence campaign committee, school leaders, supporters, and the TCC community for the ceremony.
Building on Excellence committee co-chair Mike Fredericks thanked those who helped make the project possible, while Bishop Fernandes offered a blessing for the new facility. TCC Principal Jennifer Calvo said the Fieldhouse and Community Center will provide a gathering space for students, families, and the wider community. School officials hope to have construction completed by next fall.
