Flash Dash 5K Brings Runners and Their Dogs to Kent State Tuscarawas Saturday
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 11, 2026) – A dog‑friendly race is set for Saturday at Kent State Tuscarawas with the return of the Flash Dash 5K and Fun Run.
Registration opens at 9 a.m., with the race stepping off at 10 on campus.
Director of Philanthropy Chad Conrad says runners can take part individually or bring a well‑behaved, leashed and vaccinated dog for the runner‑plus‑dog division. A half‑mile fun run is open to everyone, including K9s.
Alongside the race, families can enjoy Doggie Fest — complete with food, paw‑print art, a puppy photo booth, costume judging, awards and other activities. Proceeds benefit Kent State Tuscarawas student scholarships. Conrad says Doggie Fest is free, though donations will be accepted.
Day‑of entry fees are $20 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run.
