Drivers Adjusting to New All‑Way Stop Near Strasburg

| September 15, 2026

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 15, 2026)  — Drivers appear to be adapting smoothly to the new all‑way stop installed Monday at the intersection of State Routes 21 and 212 north of Strasburg.

ODOT replaced the former two‑way stop with stop signs in all four directions. District 11 spokeswoman Lauren Borell says the agency publicized the change in advance and added oversized warning signs and flags to help drivers prepare.

The all‑way stop is expected to remain in place until 2031, when construction begins on a roundabout — a design ODOT determined would be safer than a traffic signal at the intersection.

Borell says motorists should continue to approach the intersection with caution and make sure all traffic has stopped before proceeding.
