Fox Appointed Uhrichsville Council President
UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (Oct. 9, 2026) – Uhrichsville has a new city council president.
Democratic Central Committee Chair Martha Campbell says former council member Matt Fox was appointed this week to fill the vacancy.
The only other applicant was at‑large council member Bob Baker, who ran as an independent last fall and is listed as a Republican on the Tuscarawas County Board of Election’s website. The committee had previously said candidates must be city Democrats.
The seat opened when Buck Cottrell resigned to join the Twin City Water and Sewer District board. His term ran through 2029, meaning Fox will need to run in next year’s election to serve the final two years.
