Spooky Family Fun Meets Live Symphony as Tuscarawas Philharmonic Presents “The Great Halloween Orchestra Adventure”
Coming Soon
The event
Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon of spooky musical fun, theatrical storytelling, and costume-filled excitement! The Tuscarawas Philharmonic invites audiences of all ages to “The Great Halloween Orchestra Adventure” on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas.
Designed specifically for listeners of all ages, including families and young audience members, this engaging event pairs thrilling symphonic masterpieces with festive holiday traditions. The adventure begins at 2:00 PM with trick-or-treating throughout the PAC lobby. Children and families are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costumes, collect treats, and soak in the festive atmosphere before taking their seats for the 3:00 PM matinee performance.
The concert program offers an enchanting blend of classic orchestral works and lighthearted theatrical mystery. Audiences will journey through some of the symphonic repertoire’s most famous, spine-tingling compositions, including Modest Mussorgsky’s dramatic “Night on Bald Mountain” and John William’s eerie “Double Trouble” from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, featuring the Tuscarawas Philharmonic’s Children’s Chorus.
A highlight of the afternoon is a performance of “The Composer Is Dead,” the wildly entertaining and hilarious musical mystery composed by Nathaniel Stookey with an original text by Lemony Snicket (author of A Series of Unfortunate Events book series). Equal parts orchestra guide and comedic whodunit, this clever work introduces listeners to the various instruments and sections of the orchestra as an inspector navigates the stage to solve the mysterious demise of… the composer!
