Claymont superintendent retiring
UHRICHSVILLE – Claymont’s superintendent is retiring at the end of 2026. Brian Rentsch’s last day will be December 31st after a three-decade career, including seven years lead the Claymont City School District.
The Board of Education accepted Rensch’s retirement on Monday.
Retsch, who was hired at Claymont in August 2019, listed the stadium renovations and the addition of a school-based clinic among his accomplishments. He says he is looking forward to spending time with family and going on vacation.
As for a new superintendent, he says that will be up to the board. Rentsch says they will use the Education Service Center for the search.
