Open House Tonight Seeks Input on Community Roadmaps
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 5, 2026) – Tuscarawas County residents will have a chance tonight to help shape the future of their communities. The County Economic Development Corporation is hosting an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia as part of its grant‑funded Community Roadmap project.
The effort brings together residents, local leaders, and consultants to identify needs, explore opportunities, and develop long‑term plans for 11 participating villages and cities. Tusc EDC Director Marla Akridge says the project is especially important for smaller communities that often lack the resources for long‑term planning.
Tonight’s open house will feature maps, consultants, and places for people to share ideas and suggest improvements. Residents can also continue submitting feedback online HERE through surveys and project materials. The planning process runs through the first quarter of next year, with the EDC hoping to secure funding to put the roadmaps into action.
