Tuscarawas County YMCA’s Penny War
The event
The Tuscarawas County YMCA will hold its 2nd annual Penny War for one week only, from Monday, May 9th through Saturday, May 14th. This fundraiser is a fun way for Y members and the community to show support for their favorite Y departments while raising money for the Y’s annual campaign.
Here’s how it works: Pennies and paper money count as positive points, while silver coins count as negative points. So put your pennies and bills in the jug of your favorite department (and your silver coins in the department you don’t want to win). The department whose jug has the most points at the end of the week will be declared the winner. A table will be set up n the main lobby of the Y with collection jugs representing Aquatics, Fitness, Member Services, Sports/Gymnastics and Childcare.
