Agricultural history on display at annual Dover Steam Show

| August 19, 2022

DOVER (WJER) (Aug 19, 2022) – Clouds of black smoke and screeching whistles will be emitting from the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds this weekend.

That’s where the Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Association is hosting its 58th annual Dover Steam Show.

Association board member Ben Pauli says attendees are being treated to educational displays of working antique farm and milling equipment.

He says members come from all over the region to display their vintage steam engines, tractors, threshing machines, and sawmills.

Association President Emily Weldon says in addition to the preservation aspect, the owners just enjoy putting the equipment to use and showing it off.

The Dover Steam Show runs through Sunday.

Activities include a pedal tractor pull for all ages at 1 p.m. Saturday, an arts and crafts show in the Four-Way Barn and a toy show with replicas of historical and modern farm machinery.

Admission is $7 for adults and kids 12 and under get in free.
