Adjustment could keep Trenton Avenue open during road work

| April 3, 2024

UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (April 3, 2024) – There’s some good news for Claymont Elementary parents.
Uhrichsville Zoning and Code Enforcement Official Amy Myers participated in another preconstruction meeting for the Trenton Avenue project the week before last and believes they’ve come up with a way to minimize disruptions.
“We were there for an hour and a half to two hours trying to figure out how to not close both sides of the road. So we think we’ve come up with Phase 1 and Phase 2. We’re not sure yet but we think we have.”
Crews will be replacing the curbs, storm sewers, and pavement on Trenton between Newport Avenue and Herrick Street. The work was supposed to begin a couple of weeks ago but got pushed back because of issues involving the fiber optic lines running through the area. (Myers says the contractor now has a tentative start date of April 15th and intends to complete the project by July 31st.
“The project is supposed to start tentatively April 15th. They might move it back to the end of April, but they want to complete it by July 31st.”
Homes and businesses in the work zone will receive a letter with more information. The school district will notify parents about any changes to student drop-off and pick-up procedures.
