Agencies investigate Dennison house fire
DENNISON (WJER) (June 9, 2023) – Dennison firefighters, police and the State Fire Marshal’s office are now all involved in the investigation of a Wednesday house fire in the village.
Chief Dave McConnell says crews were called around 5:55 p.m. that day to the 600 block of Logan Street and arrived to light smoke in the kitchen and bathroom area, and some more in the living and dining rooms.
“Once we realized extension had taken place, then we had a pretty moderate amount of damage,” said McConnell.
He says the Red Cross has also been assisting the two adults and a child living at the home.
“They were transported to Trinity Hospital by Smith Ambulance just to be evaluated for maybe some slight smoke inhalation,” he said. “I think the one lady had a small burn on her one hand.”
McConnell says damage is estimated at $60,000 to the property and $10,000 for the contents.
Uhrichsville and Warwick Township departments assisted.
He says crews remained at the house for about four hours.
