DOVER (WJER) (February 21, 2024) – Mayor Shane Gunnoe this week provided updates on two significant project proposals – a grocery store and a housing development, both on the north side of the city.

Gunnoe says both project developers are moving forward, but there are still months of meetings and public hearings ahead.

He says the 30-home Crimson Cove housing development is working its way through the planning commission.

Developers for the proposed ALDI grocery store on North Wooster Avenue have requested a zoning change on the parcel of land they’re buying from Dover First Christian Church.

The planning commission’s public hearing for ALDI’s zoning request and the public hearing for Crimson Cove’s final plat are both tentatively scheduled for March 12th at 10 a.m. at the city planning commission meeting. Nearby residents will receive notices in the mail.

Gunnoe says Council will have its own public hearings on the proposals weeks and possibly months later if the planning commission recommends the request.
