Bond set at $250k for Uhrichsville shooting suspect
UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (May 7, 2024) – There’s another court hearing next week for the man that Uhrichsville Police say fired a gun into an occupied vehicle.
Mekhi Carlton made his initial appearance in Southern District Court Monday afternoon for felonious assault and had his bond set bond at $250,000.
A press release from Uhrichsville Police Captain Mike Hickman says officers received a report of “shots fired” in the north end of town just after 10 am and later identified the 20-year-old city resident as the suspected culprit. We don’t know exactly where the shooting happened or how many people were inside the vehicle – just that no one was injured.
Carlton will be back in Southern District Court next Tuesday for a probable cause hearing, after which the case will likely get bound over Tuscarawas County Common Pleas for further proceedings. Hickman says additonal felony charges are awaiting review by the grand jury.
