Bowling fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters continues this weekend

| March 9, 2022

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (March 8, 2022) – The organization that matches youth in need of a mentor with student and adult volunteers is hoping to raise at least $65,000 with this year’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraisers.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio Development and Administration Director Monique Duke says the charity bowling competition for Carroll County took place last weekend, although it’s not too late to sign up for the ones this Saturday.

“Absolutely not. We still have some open slots for our 2 to 4 shift for teams to bowl with us at Boulevard Lanes and Cy Young Lanes.”

She says these will be in-person fundraisers after some modifications the past few years because of the pandemic.

“We don’t have a virtual option, but if you would like an option to participate and not be at the event, you can purchase online raffle tickets to support the cause.”

Raffle prizes include a stay at Salt Fork Resort, a smart TV, and a Nintendo Switch. You can buy tickets and register for one of Saturday’s bowling competitions at bigs4kids.com/bowling. Duke says proceeds help the organization create and support mentoring matches for about 400 area kids each year.
