Bridge Replacement, Road Projects Planned in Uhrichsville

| June 5, 2026

UHRICHSVILLLE (WJER) (June 5, 2026)  — A long-awaited bridge project in the City of Uhrichsville is set to move forward this summer, with additional road improvements also on the horizon.

City officials say funding for the bridge replacement was largely secured by the previous administration through the Ohio Department of Transportation, which will cover 95% of the project cost. The city’s share is approximately $200,000.

Service Director Cade Watkins said the work will focus on the bridge deck along 3rd Street. Construction is scheduled to begin July 13 and will require a full closure lasting about 90 days. The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.6 million.

In addition to the bridge project, the city is preparing to address improvements on Wardell Street. The project is expected to go out for bid next month and will include a full-depth road repair along with widening efforts.

Officials say approximately $700,000 in grant funding has been secured for the Wardell Street project.

Watkins noted that these efforts will draw from the city’s paving budget, along with $85,000 allocated as part of a joint project with the Twin City Water Department.

Looking ahead, the city is also considering additional roadway improvements, including work on Deersville Avenue and various alleyways, as funding becomes available.
