Camp Tuscazoar to host Veterans Weekend, RSVP deadline approaching
ZOARVILLE (WJER) (July 19, 2024) – Camp Tuscazoar is announcing a new event to honor heroes.
The site is inviting military members to its inaugural Camp Tuscazoar Veterans Weekend for camping, biking and fellowship with others August 2-4.
“Camp Tuscazoar reached out to us to see if we could help spread the word and find the veterans that would be interested in what they’re hosting,” said Veterans Service Officer Jason Thornton with the Tuscarawas County Veterans Service Office in New Philadelphia.
Tentative programming includes presentations from trail user groups, planned hikes to key points in the camp, history presentations, evening campfires, and more.
“They’re going to do some different hiking adventures, maybe some biking, and all the meals are provided for,” said Thornton. “All of the meals are provided for and it’s completely free to the veterans. All they have to do is RSVP.”
Thornton says his office will be there with other groups to promote the services they offer.
