Candidate for Ohio governor visits Tuscarawas County

| March 25, 2025

NEW PHILADELPHIA – Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was the featured guest at the Tuscarawas County Republican Party annual Lincoln Day gathering Saturday at the KSU Tusc Performing Arts Center.

Party Chairman Greg Kimble opened the event before U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno introduced Ramaswamy, who said he wants to lead Ohio to greatness.

Ramaswamy said he would make Ohio “a zero income tax state” while also saying Ohio property taxes are “way too high.” He also vowed to take Ohio’s school choice program “to the next level,” including increased support for home-schooling.

Ramaswamy announced his bid for Ohio governor in February. Fellow Republican Dave Yost and Democrat Amy Acton are also running in 2026. Current governor Mike DeWine cannot run for a third term.
