UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (April 24, 2026) – The Clay Capital Heritage Center is having a grand opening this weekend at its new home in downtown Uhrichsville to coincide with the America 250 – Buckeye Train celebrations in the Twin Cities.

The museum is in the former department store at North Main and East Third.

The Dennison Depot is overseeing the project.

Director Wendy Zucal says the two-story building is opening with first-floor exhibits, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guests will get to explore the museum’s clay mine entrance, watch films in the Beehive Kiln Theater, meet its new mascot – Dominic the Donkey, and shop unique items in the gift shop.
