Dairy leader and community volunteer Connie Finton passes away

New Philadelphia (WJER) (April 11, 2025) – An esteemed advocate for the local dairy industry and numerous organizations within the community has passed away.
Connie Finton of New Philadelphia died on her 78th birthday Wednesday.
Along with dairy programs at the state and national level, she was involved with the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau and the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital Auxiliary, where she helped launch the annual Warther’s Christmas Tree Festival.
She’s also credited with getting the Women’s Success Series started. Finton was named the Tuscarawas County Woman of the Year in 2008 and the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2016.
Connie is survived by her husband Cliff, as well as several children and grandchildren. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
