Dennison gets mixed feedback on DORA outdoor drinking proposal

| October 17, 2025

DENNISON (WTUZ) (Oct. 17, 2025) – The village of Dennison is considering following New Philadelphia’s lead and establishing a downtown Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area.

The DORA would span the entire downtown, with evening hours Monday through Thursday and expanded hours over the weekend.

Councilwoman Vikki O’Hara expressed her concerns at a public hearing this week.

Those in favor pointed to successful DORA initiatives in bigger cities and smaller communities including Millersburg.

Resident Scotty Jones suggested limiting it to special occasions.

Dennison council is expected to vote on the DORA next month.
