Dennison Man Killed in Union Township Crash
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 16, 2026) – State troopers say a Dennison man was killed in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Union Township.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 64-year-old Jeffrey R. Cottrell was driving a 2003 Ford F-150 southwest on Midvale Mine Road, or County Road 67, around 7:39 p.m. when his truck went off the right side of the road and struck a post and a tree.
Cottrell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Highway Patrol says alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, and Cottrell was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
