Deputies arrest man accused of firing gun in home with kids present
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Jan. 20, 2025) – Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an allegedly drunken and suicidal man who had fired multiple shots from a handgun into the ceiling and floor of his home with three of his children present.
It doesn’t appear anyone was injured.
Call records show this happened at a Stonecreek Road Southwest residence around 1:40 a.m. Sunday. Friends were able to subdue the 32-year-old man with the gun and pin him to the floor of his living room until deputies arrived.
The man was taken to the county jail on charges of using weapons while intoxicated and child endangering.
