DOVER (WJER) (June 18, 2025) – It looks like Dover will ban electric scooters from its parks.
That includes in the parking lots and on the walking paths.
The recommendation comes from a committee that involved the mayor, police chief, and Safety Director Bob Everett.
The committee also recommends limiting electric bikes in city parks to riders 16 and older.
Everett says with e-scooters zipping around the park more frequently, he’s worried somebody is going to get killed if they don’t make some rules.
Council will likely vote on the recommendations at an upcoming meeting.
