Dover gifted money to build park pavilion, splash pad

DOVER – The city’s parks continue to be the beneficiary of generous gift-givers in the community.
This week the city received $45,500 from the Dover Exchange Club to build a new pavilion at Dover City Park. Club Treasurer Rockne Clarke says this will be the second pavilion funded by the Exchange Club after the one they built at the riverfront park a few years ago.
The new one will go by the new pickle ball courts that will be built sometime in the near future.
Mayor Shane Gunnoe also announced a $25,000 gift from the Rosenberry Foundation to help build a splash pad at Dover City Pool. He says the city is looking for additional funding help with that project.
The donations come two weeks after the city’s parks received a $111,000 gift from the estate of Joanne Sullie. Gunnoe has said officials are looking for an appropriate way to spend that money.
