Dover Library Program to Examine Data Center Impacts
DOVER (WJER) (July 7, 2026) – The hot-button topic of data centers will be the focus of a program at the Dover Public Library Wednesday evening.
Environmental scientist Dr. Randi Pokladnik will lead the program.
Her concerns include “The Environmental Impacts of Hyperscale Data Centers.” Those concerns include power generation and usage, pollution, noise, water consumption, as well as the loss of rural lifestyles.
A recent AP report says data centers are straining electric grids – and that governments and power companies need to be prepared.
