Dover team wins 28th annual Teen Driving Roadeo

DOVER (WJER) (May, 1, 2025) – Dover students are the winners of the Tuscarawas County Health Department’s annual Teen Driving Roadeo for the third year in a row.
Spokesperson Jennifer Demuth says teams of young drivers from eight area high schools took part in the maneuverability and writing contests Wednesday at the fairgrounds competing for bragging rights and gift cards for top finishers.
State troopers judge the various driving challenges, where the participants are scored for having the fewest mistakes and fastest times.
Below are the winners from the 2025 Teen Driving Roadeo event.
Team Rankings (Top 3): 1. Dover, 2. Buckeye Career Center, and 3. New Philadelphia.
Best Written Test Scores: 1. Ryan Yoder, Dover; 2. Macie McMillen, New Philadelphia; 3. Daylen Clark, Dover; 4. Brodie Lindsay, New Philadelphia; and 5. Autumn Fin, Buckeye Career Center.
Best Safety Poster: Claymont
Best Driving Skills: 1. Zachary Douglas, Buckeye Career Center; 2. Mason Grewell, Dover; 3. Nathen Wright, Tuscarawas Central Catholic; 4. Rachel Pfeiffer, Dover; and 5. Bronson Speedy, Buckeye Career Center.
Individual Driving Event Top Scorers: Serpentine—Seth Beaber, New Philadelphia; Star—Avianna Zobel, Dover; Backing and Lane Change—Rebecca Yoder, Garaway; Right Parallel Park—Maxwell Kinsey, Indian Valley; and Left Parallel Park—Gina Beachy, Garaway.

The Dover team of Mason Grewell, Rachel Pfeiffer, Sydney Stevenson, Ryan Yoder, and Avianna Yoder took 1st Place in Wednesday’s Teen Driving Roadeo.

Claymont’s team of Ella Dorsey, Colton Heslop, Jayden Hunt, Bobby Wilsterman, Jadyn Sproul, and Ethan Fair won the best safety poster contest.

Teams from Buckeye Career Center, Claymont, Dover, Garaway, Indian Valley, New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas Central Catholic, and Tusky Valley competed in the 28th Teen Driving Roadeo on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025.
