Dover woman fatally struck by van on North Wooster Ave
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 18, 2025) – The State Highway Patrol says a Dover woman struck by a van while attempting to walk across North Wooster Avenue Monday evening has died. |
The victim was 69-year-old Kathy Fruchey.
Troopers say she was hit at the intersection with Karle Alley, near Front Street, by a northbound van in the right lane of North Wooster Avenue just after 6 p.m.
Fruchey was taken first to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and then flown to an Akron hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the van, an 80-year-old Dover man, was wearing a seatbelt and not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
