Dover’s busy summer continues with jazz and steel drum concert Thursday

| May 29, 2024

DOVER (WJER) (May 29, 2024) – The city promises a summer of concerts, food trucks and swimming to go along with several updates at city parks.

The Lions Club Summer Concert schedule begins Thursday with the Dover High School Jazz and Steel Drum Bands and includes five other concerts on Thursdays at 7 p.m. this summer at Deis Hill.

There are also food truck Thursdays on the first and last Thursday of each month. Food trucks will be at the city park this Thursday and next from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Basketball and tennis players will have to take a break for at least a couple of weeks this summer as the city repairs the courts.

Mayor Shane Gunnoe says resurfacing and repainting the basketball courts should be done soon. Work on the tennis courts will take place over a couple of weeks in July to avoid the fall and spring high school sports seasons.

There are also summer camps, bocce leagues, softball leagues and disc golf. Visit the city of Dover’s website – doverohio.com – to register or for more information.
