Early voting hours expand for special congressional general election

| June 3, 2024

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (June 3, 2024) – Residents in the 6th Congressional District are getting more time to vote early for this month’s special congressional general election.

Tuscarawas County Board of Elections Director Gail Garbrandt says the early voting hours at the courthouse on weekdays are now 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

She says there is one exception as the board office will stay open until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4th, because that’s the last day to request an absentee ballot for the June election.

Garbrandt reminds voters the special election only has one race and that’s to fill the remainder of former Congressman Bill Johnson’s term through the end of the year.

Republican State Senator Michael Rulli and Democrat Michael Kripchak are the two candidates.

Both are also running in November for the full two-year term that begins in January.
