Early Voting Hours Expanding in Final Week
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Oct. 26. 2026) – Tuscarawas County Board of Elections officials say early‑voting hours are expanding this week to give working voters more time to cast ballots. Director David Johnson says the office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today through Friday, with extended hours Tuesday until 8:30 p.m., which is also the deadline to submit absentee‑ballot requests.
Weekend voting is available as well — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, the final day of early voting.
Johnson says turnout has been strong, averaging about 300 voters per day during the first week. So far, more than 3,700 people have voted in person, and more than 5,300 have requested mail‑in ballots as of Friday.
Voters can cast ballots at the Board of Elections office at 933 East High Avenue in New Philadelphia, and Johnson reminds everyone to bring a valid ID.
