“Scene Around Zoar” in the Bimeler Museum
The event
Historic Zoar Village is unveiling a new art exhibit entitled “Scene Around Zoar” in the Bimeler Museum on Saturday, April 6, 2024. The exhibit presents art from the 1880s to 2022 showcasing the beautiful scenery of Zoar Village and over 30 different Zoar buildings and structures. The display features artwork done by Zoar decedents, local artists and artists from the Cleveland School of Art. The exhibit runs through October 27, 2024.
Additionally, Historic Zoar Village partnered with the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition to create a “Best of Zoar” exhibit in the Town Hall, featuring popular artifacts and photographs that recap Zoar’s remarkable history.
The Town Hall is funded by local foundations including:
- The Dewey and Irene Moomaw Foundation
- Tuscarawas Valley Heritage
- The Henry and Louise Timken Foundation
- The Haman Family Foundation
- The Zimmerman Family Foundation
- The Ohio History Fund
Museum hours in April are Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. May through September hours are expanded to 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Admission for the art exhibit only is $5 per person. General admission for Historic Zoar Village is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages five to 17 and free for kids four and under. General admission is always free for members of Ohio History Connection and the Zoar Community Association.
