Coming Soon
The event
Historic Zoar Village brings back its Christmas tours on Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The village will also host its annual holiday event, Christmas in Zoar, on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During the Christmas Tours, visitors explore beautifully decorated historic buildings showcasing German Christmas traditions and the origins of holiday customs. Tours are by reservation only and leave every 30 minutes.
Christmas in Zoar invites visitors to explore the history of the season through 19th-century demonstrations of American and German holiday traditions.
Holiday characters will greet guests throughout the village during both Christmas in Zoar and the Christmas Tours, including Santa, Kristkind, Father Christmas, the German Belsnickel and Krampus. All characters will be present at Christmas in Zoar and the Christmas Tours.
Additional festive activities include the “Merry Miles” 5K race, live musical entertainment, annual pickle hunt, hot chocolate and more.
Shoppers can find one-of-a-kind seasonal gifts and decor at the Zoar Store and Zoar Bakery, as well as from vendors and crafters throughout the village.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, guests can attend a church service at the Zoar United Church of Christ at 5 p.m., followed by a tree-lighting ceremony in the Zoar Garden at 6 p.m.
Visitors can also enjoy a holiday Christmas concert featuring local choirs at the Zoar Meeting House on December 12 at 7 p.m.
Admission for the Christmas Tours and Christmas in Zoar is $15 for adults and free for children 12 and under. For tickets, more information about the event or to apply to become an artisan vendor, visit www.historiczoarvillage.com or call 330-874-3011.
