CRJ&R Free Movie Showing at Kent State Tuscarawas

The local group Citizens for Racial Justice & Reform – Tuscarawas County invites the community to a FREE showing of the 2018 movie The Hate U Give on Wednesday, May 25th at 6:00pm at Founders Hall Auditorium at Kent State University at Tuscarawas. The date of the movie showing was chosen to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the murder of George Floyd in 2020. Because the plot of the movie revolves around the killing of an unarmed Black teenager by a police officer, it offers another way to continue the ongoing conversation regarding police brutality in America. The movie is rated PG-13 and has a run time of 2 hours and 12 minutes. Free popcorn and beverages will be available. The doors will open at 5:30pm, and attendees can sign up for a chance to win door prizes including books, pins, T-shirts, and more.
